The file path stored in your database changes, so the image stops loading on your site right away. That is your chance to spot where it was being used: while it sits in the trash, any place that still needs it will show a missing or broken image.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A scan can only find images in the places it knows to look. An image that looks unused may still be sitting in a page builder layout, a theme option, a slider, or your CSS. So walk your site before you empty the trash.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\ud83d\udd04 Always hard refresh while checking<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Your browser can keep showing a deleted image from cache for a while, which makes a broken spot look fine. Press <strong>Ctrl + Shift + R<\/strong> (<strong>Cmd + Shift + R<\/strong> on Mac) on every page you check so you see what visitors actually see.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\ud83d\udc49 Places to check<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Your homepage, top posts, and top landing pages<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pages built with <strong>Elementor, Divi, Bricks<\/strong>, or other builders<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Theme and Customizer<\/strong>: logo, favicon, header, background<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>WooCommerce<\/strong> product, gallery, and category images<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Sliders, widgets, popups<\/strong>, and custom fields (ACF, Meta Box)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Images you have linked in <strong>newsletters, ads, or other sites<\/strong>, since those break too<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\ud83c\udf1f Play it safe<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Found a broken spot? Restore the image, then replace it properly before trashing again.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Unsure? Restore it.
